Well established information and communications technology service company specializing in the oil and gas exploration and production sector is hiring a Senior IT engineer in Houston, TX. Working as a technical team leader in the Global IT team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting both the existing infrastructure and rolling out a new architecture across 3 continents.

The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years experience in IT, with extensive experience in IT systems and related technologies. They would also be a good communicator and team leader who understands the business drivers for technology and systems

Proven Experience in:
Network, Microsoft based Server and application support for full life cycle (Installation through to decommissioning).
Infrastructure design, both at network and Microsoft platform level.
Microsoft technology specialist, including detailed Active directory knowledge.
IT systems, to an enterprise level. From the desktop, to fault tolerant data-centers.
Wide Area networking.
Managing distributed IT systems spread across multiple sites and countries, including process and documentation.
Leading a team of IT professionals

Essential requirements:
Professional work ethic
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent English
Advance diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Expert in Microsoft technology, MCSE

Experience in the following areas are preferred:
Cisco networking, VLAN's, PIX
VMWare, virtualisation
Cloud computing
