Description

This beautiful, one-of-a-kind coffee table was made by famous southwestern artist, Amado Pena. It was originally purchased by me in 1981 or 1982 from El Taller Gallery in Austin, Texas. The main Pena gallery is now in Santa Fe, NE -- Pena Studio Gallery. It's current appraised value is $10,000-$12,000.

The table contains 59 individually painted tiles with each one meticiously brought together for one perfect design. If you look at the close up photo of the tiles below, you can see the detail in the work such as the tile on the bottom far left which contains 6 individual tile pieces.

Center tiles are a terra cotta sand like color with a mat finish and texture. Corner pieces are mat finish as well and are in the ochre family of colors. The native american form is black, very shiny with turquoise "flames" on two sides of the table and light grey "flames" on the other two sides.

Pena commissioned master Austin wood craftsman Eddie Norman to assist him in this masterful work. The wood is a beautiful light to medium oak, measuring 40" x 40" square with a height of 16".

This table has grown in value every single year since I purchased it. It will make an excellent investment as well as bringing a beautiful and practical piece of art to your home. Signed letter by Amado Pena certifying authenticity is included. Price is $5,500 OBO
