Macaw - Large - Adult - Male - Bird - Colonel

Colonel is an older male Scarlet Macaw. He has not had the best of life and still at this point is not really handable but is very interactive. We hope with positive reinforcement and a lot of patience and time, Colonel will learn to trust again. Colonel is very plucked (probably due to his neglect) but we are seeing it is slowing down. Whether it will stop and he will ever be fully feathered again is only up to him. He has been vet checked and disease tested. Colonel is awaiting for just the right person to come and meet him:) He will make a great pet for the right person. Adoption fee applies. NPRPF is a small all volunteer organization. Please read our adoption guidelines on our website FIRST before emailing us or sending in an application. We ONLY ADOPT OUT IN THE HOUSTON AREA as we do require a homevisit on every prospective applicant before they start their visitations with a bird up for adoption. NO EXCEPTIONS SORRY... We do require several visits with each bird before we allow an adoption to go through. Basically we allow our feathered angels to pick their own home (with our approval of course). Serious inquiries only. Local adoption only. Adoption fee applies. You must be able to provide your own nice cage for our feathered friend that meets the maximum size available for that particular species. Thank you!
