We have a great opportunity for a Customer Service Rep/Housing Counselor with one of our most respected clients located in the Houston/Meyerland area.



POSITION SUMMARY:

Establish relationships with clients and analyze their housing situation in conjunction with their financial circumstances in order to educate clients and provide customized recommendations on the options they have to most appropriately handle their delinquent mortgage. This includes communicating and building relationships with lenders, government organizations and nonprofit business partners.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for assessing the client's financial situation through one-on-one in-person, inbound telephone calls and/or web chat counseling sessions with potential clients.

Provides personal attention to each client in a professional and responsible manner, while maintaining or exceeding monthly performance goals.

Operates within established guidelines to assure that clients are provided with the appropriate solution to meet their unique needs.

Responsible for client follow-up, when needed, to ensure client completes recommended action plans.

Develops individually tailored recommendations based on the loss mitigation options in order to assist clients in appropriately managing their housing situation.

Motivates clients to take the actions necessary to resolve their financial problems.

Explains the features and benefits of the clients products and services to new and existing clients.

Provides specialized counseling for clients under various grants, agreements and programs entered into by the client, which is consistent with all established program, agreement or grantor guidelines.

Promotes the sale of appropriate agency products and properly handles the money transactions associated with these sales, when applicable.

Responsible for re-counseling clients, when needed.

Provides clients with appropriate referrals to other assistance organizations, when needed.

Meets position objectives as defined by management.

Supports and complies with all company policies, procedures, guidelines and ethical standards. Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and complies with all policies and procedures to protect the client's privacy and proprietary information.

Represents the client professionally and effectively to all constituents through participation in professional development programs and through the certification process.

Acquires and maintains all necessary professional certifications.



ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stays abreast of current economic conditions and legislation. Maintains an on-going analysis and awareness of how the impact of outside environmental trends on clients.

Participates in special initiatives and special project as assigned.

Support and maintain information security measures as appropriate to the position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.



EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate or Bachelors degree preferred.

Minimum of two years experience assisting customers in a service environment.

Background in mortgage related industry, sales, finance, consumer credit or a counselor-related field.

Some combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
