We have a great opportunity for a mid-career Business Development Analyst with one of our most respected clients located in the Downtown Houston area.



The Business Development Analyst is responsible for:


*both responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and providing analytical support to Business Developers in the Texas region.


Specific responsibilities of the position include:


*Develop knowledge of the C&I Electric Commodity market in the Texas region, which includes over a dozen Electric Distribution Companies

*Provide market intelligence on competitors and Electric Distribution Companies

*Prepare responses to Requests for Proposals, including the coordination of responses with inside sales, pricing, and origination groups, and where applicable national accounts and other regions

*Utilize the sales management/reporting system to generate quotes and sales reports

*Work closely with the pricing group to develop winning pricing strategies for the RFP process

*Suggest efficiencies and ways to streamline the RFP process to increase productivity

*Identify and focus on profitable market niches

*Provide high level analysis and support to Business Development Managers, including assisting in the development of structured products for large specialized customers

*Work with Consultants to win business at improved margins

*Share sales leads/information with other regions.

*Assist Sales Director/BDM to resolve internal ownership issues

*Qualify prospective leads

*Process LOAs with TDSPs and pricing requests from brokers

*Create and manage customer profile in Sales and Marketing Info System (SMIS)

*Coordinate with Customer Relations Manager to identify BDM wins/losses


Qualifications (Experience, Competencies, Skills, Education):


The Business Development Analyst position requires a Bachelors degree, preferably in Business or Economics and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Two or more years experience in the sales, pricing or structuring area of the deregulated electric industry is preferred.


The successful candidate must also possess the following qualifications:


Proficient using Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point and Access


Exceptional skills using Excel spreadsheets


Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines


Ability to work well with a wide variety of people both internally and externally


Good business judgment to understand market and competitive situations resulting in maximized margins


Focused on creating a win/win outcome for both the customer and the company


Possesses the highest level of integrity and ethics and functions as an effective team player
