Job Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the preparation of the company's consolidated federal income tax return and the short period returns for acquired domestic corporations. In addition, responsible for preparation of monthly tax provision.
Essential Duties:
* Prepares in a timely manner all short period federal and state returns, interacting with the acquired subsidaries and their outside accountants. Upon completion, presents complete federal and state returns for review
* Manages the preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return and the return to accrual analysis
* Prepares consolidated federal tax returns and reviews state and local filings
* Assumes responsibility for the return to accrual analysis
* Assists with year-end provision calculations, with the goal to taking over the primary responsibility for the provision and year-end deferred tax calculation
* Assists in the completing the transfer pricing study which must be done according to IRS regulations
* Managing company's compliance issues with various government agencies
* Managing preparation of franchise property excise and sales tax filings
Qualifications
* Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting or Finance
* CPA
* 5+ years experience in taxation. Corporate taxation or public accounting experience would be acceptable
* Federal, multi-state and international income tax experience required
* Must be willing to dig into details
* Must have 2+ years in managing personnel. Must have supervised 2+ personnel
* Must have strong organizational skills
* Must have strong communication skills. Must be able to explain complex tax situations to other management personnel
* Must be able to meet strict deadlines
* Experience in electronic processes involving tax issues
* Experience in pass through entities
* Experience in aviation industry a plus
* TFBO experience a plus
* Sales and excise tax experience a plus
